Attorney John A. Mauney is a lifelong North Carolina resident. John graduated from North Carolina Central University with a Bachelor of Laws Degree in 1979.  He was admitted to the North Carolina bar in August 1979 and has been practicing ever since.  John is a member of the Association of Advocates of the North Carolina Academy of Trial Lawyers as well as a member of the North Carolina Bar and American Bar Associations.  John resides in Southern Shores with his wife, Martha, dog Ellie and cat, Hannah.

Attorney Erika P. Heyder is the newest addition to our firm.  She graduated from Whittier Law School in Orange County, CA in May 2008 with a concentration on environmental and municipal law. Erika received her B.A. in both Political Science and Journalism from UNC-Chapel Hill in 2005. Erika is licensed in both North Carolina and Virginia. Erika is an Outer Banks and Currituck County native and currently resides in Powells Point.
